Lee, Bonfiglio, Vesely, and Associates is proud to announce our newest certification. Dr. Albert Lee and his assistants are now DSD Designer Smile certified. So what is the DSD Designer Smile certification? And what benefits does it bring to a dentist in Severna Park, MD?
What is DSD Designer Smile?
DSD designer smile is a digital tool that’s used to enhance smiles in both two and three dimensions. It lets you become more involved in designing your own smiles. Pictures and videos are taken of the patient’s entire mouth, showing your facial and dental proportions. This lets both the patient and dentist see how the lips, gums, and other parts of the mouth compare to the teeth, as well as if the ratio is off.
The technology also lets you see what your smile is going to look like before it’s done. Digitally, the restoration can be done using these pictures of your smile. Using those, we can get a solid idea as to what the patient’s smile is going to look like after their procedure is done. This allows for little adjustments to be done so that the perfect product is made for Dr. Lee to go off of while he’s performing the procedure.
This tool is important both in a diagnostic and educational sense. We’re able to better communicate the issues with your smile and what changes we’re able to make and help you with. It’s much easier for you to visualize the finished product and know the beautiful smile you’re going to have after your treatment.
The Certification Process
The certification course was taken with the prestigious DSD (Digital Smile Design) group that is based in Spain, Brazil, and Florida. It’s a four-day course that was attended by dentists and staff from all over the world, coming together in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Lee, Debra, and Colleen got to learn with other like-minded practices, sharing ideas and fellowship along the way.
